Game Preview - LaGrange Football vs. Berry - Sept. 13, 2025

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College football team will open their 2025 home schedule on Saturday evening when they face Berry College in non-conference action at Callaway Stadium in LaGrange, Georgia.

The Panthers are coming off a season opening win at Point University last Saturday, a resounding 36-14 victory over the Skyhawks. It was LC's first win in a season opener since 2019.

LaGrange had several standouts from that win, including freshman wide receiver Dami'on Thompson (Atlanta, Ga.) who caught a 77-yard touchdown reception on the game's first play from scrimmage. Thompson would finish with four catches, totaling 134 yards and the one score. His performance netted him USA South Conference Offensive Rookie of the Week honors.

LaGrange junior quarterback Henry Brodnax (Newnan, Ga.) threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns on the evening to go against two interceptions. Senior wide receiver Ashton Bryant (Athens, Ga.) – a 2024 USA South All-Conference honoree – caught five passes for 99 yards and a score while junior running back Michael Hays (Jacksonville, Fla.) rushed for 64 yards on the ground while catching three balls for 26 yards in the air.

The Panther defense totaled six sacks and two interceptions in week one, with senior defensive back Deon King Jr. (Vienna, Ga.), another USA South All-Conference honoree for the Panthers last season, finished with 1.5 sacks totaling 13 yards. Junior cornerback Jaden Sanders (Springfield, Ga.) had an interception with four tackles.

Senior kicker Landon Eaker (Ringgold, Ga.) was perfect on the night, making all three field goal attempts and all three extra points.

Berry is coming off a 58-28 home win at Huntingdon College last Saturday to start their season.

A balanced Vikings rushing attack saw 13 players combine for 41 attempts, netting them 186 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Junior quarterback Andrew Hunter (Huntsville, Ala.) led the way with 117 passing yards and 37 rushing yards, totaling four combined scores. Senior wide receiver Khamari Smith (Gasden, Ala.) caught two passes for a team high 54 yards.

General admission tickets are $10 at Callaway Stadium, with a $5 rate for veterans of the military and first responders. Admission is free to children under twelve. LaGrange students, faculty and staff with an LC I.D. also receive free admission, along with their guests.
