ATLANTA, GA. - The LaGrange College Baseball Team (14-16) returned home after an unsuccessful road trip on Tuesday (Apr. 8), which saw a tough 11-6 loss to the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels (16-12) who mounted a six-run comeback to steal the victory from LC in come-from-behind fashion.
Game Summary
It looked promising in the early going as LaGrange pushed runs across in each of the first three innings, including four runs in the second on the way to a 6-0 lead. Oglethorpe, however, quickly surged back, beginning with four runs in the third to make it a 6-4 ballgame.
An inning later, an OU RBI ground out, followed moments later with a two-run homer would change a 6-5 LC lead into a 7-6 deficit. Unfortunately, Oglethorpe kept LaGrange scoreless the rest of the way as the Panthers fell 11-6.
Panther of the Game
Ben Hollenbeck was one of the top bats for LC on the day, notching a pair of hits for an RBI and a double.
