ATLANTA, Ga. - The LaGrange College Baseball Team (11-8) suffered a tough loss on the road Tuesday (Mar. 18), dropping their matchup with Emory University (14-6) by a final score of 10-3 from Chappell Park.
Game Summary
The Eagles jumped on the board first, scoring four runs in the first handful of innings. LC seemed to have a similar pop to their bats as well, but failed to cash in with runners on base as they trailed 4-0 heading into the fifth inning.
The Panthers avoided the shutout, notching a three-piece on the scoreboard thanks to the bat and baserunning of
Tray Owens. Unfortunately for LaGrange, however, a rough outing on the mound cost them as Emory went on to win 10-3.
Panther of the Game
Owens dominated the batter's box, going 3-4 with three hits for two RBI's. The senior out of Franklin, Ga also scored as a runner off a wild pitch in the eighth inning.
