DEMOREST, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's basketball team won 52-49 at Piedmont University in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Saturday at the Cave Arena in Demorest, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clinging to a 47-41 lead going into the final quarter, the Panthers opened the fourth with a big three from senior guard Laila Battle (Smyrna, Ga.) to set the tone. The Lions later pulled to within three off a three-pointer from Piedmont senior guard Hayley Borino (Highlands, N.C.) with 2:42 remaining. But the LaGrange defense hunkered down, forcing three straight missed shots by Piedmont and a turnover on their final possession.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Battle led the way for the Panthers with 14 points, eight rebounds and five steals.
- LaGrange freshman guard Alexandria Berk (Columbus, Ga.) finished with 11 points with four assists and three steals.
- LaGrange senior guard Amanda Mclendon (Orlando, Fla.) finished one point short of a double-double with nine points and eleven rebounds.
- Piedmont freshman forward Kylie Watkins (Cleveland, Ga.) led the Lions with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.
- Piedmont senior forward Ava Hunter (Blairsville, Ga.) added 16 points and four boards.

- LaGrange is back on the court on Monday, December 15th when they travel to Georgia State for an exhibition game.
