Panthers Volleyball dealt a pair of tri-match losses

LC Volleyball edged out by Belhaven University and Millsaps College in a road weekend tri-match (Sept. 21).

The Panthers now sit with a 3-8 overall record.

Match One Details
Belhaven and LaGrange opened today's tri-match by trading punches. The game stayed neck and neck until LC secured a three-point 18-15 lead, forcing the BU timeout. The hosts were firing on all cylinders coming out of the break, going on to secure a 25-22 win.

Like the first set, the game stayed close until BU was able to pull away after a late timeout. The Blazers secured a 25-18 win over LC.

During the third, the Panthers grabbed a five point 14-9 advantage following BU attack errors leading to an LC run. The hosts were able to claw their way back to a 16-16 game. Despite the Panthers' best efforts, BU held on to win 25-20.

Match Two Details
Following the tough defeat, LC moved to Millsaps facilities down the road from BU (Jackson, Miss.).

In the opening set, the Majors jumped out to a 9-2 lead. MC won 26-15.

The Panthers came out in the second set swinging, going up 5-0 to start. The two teams traded leads the rest of the way, but the Majors were just too much to handle for LC. MC won 25-16.

The Panthers continued to battle but Millsaps went on to win 25-10.
