Panthers Softball eliminated from CCS Postseason Tournament


With today's 8-3 loss to Belhaven (May 2), the LC Softball season comes to a close.

Game details
Jenna Yeary was tonight's first Panther pitcher. The sophomore from Loganville, Ga. has posted a 5.19 ERA in 63.1 innings pitched this season. The Blazers were coming off of a 13-inning loss to Maryville College earlier today. The Blazers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The Panthers responded with a great hit by Abby Hefner that popped over the third baseman's head and allowed the runner on third to score. The 1-1 tie broke in the third when they scored two runs. The Blazers added another run in the fourth to go up 4-1. During the fifth, BU extended their lead to 6-1. Still in the fifth, Alexa Gonzalez crushed a two-run homer to bring the score to 6-3. In the final frame, the Blazers added two. BU would win 8-3.
