Game Details

Tonight's matchup against the Skyhawks started out neck-and-neck. Through the first five minutes, LC trailed 12-11, but were trading punches. Following a series of turnover woes for both teams, LaGrange regained a 13-12 lead off of a strong layup by Laila Battle. Through the opening quarter, LC led 14-12 with the Panthers finding ten points in the paint.

Following an equalizing jump shot by the Skyhawks, Kendra Roberts responded by knocking down a three-pointer to put the Panthers back up.
LC continued to pound the Paint in the second quarter with Amanda Mclendon and Laila Battle leading the charge with ten points each. LaGrange held a 34-27 advantage as time expired.

Point started the second half giving the Panthers their best. Benefiting from LC turnovers and a made shot from long-range, the Skyhawks locked the game at 38-38. After a series of substitutions, Annika Bonds answered the hosts with a three-pointer of her own followed by a jumper to give LaGrange a 43-38 lead. These back-to-back clutch shots set LC up with a 47-45 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Out of the break, Britney Chavez knocked down her first from distance, giving the Panthers a fourth quarter kick-start. Over the next five minutes, LC built a 61-51 lead with Zyhia Johnson and Amanda Mclendon both continuing to tally the score column. This early fourth quarter scoring run helped LaGrange grab a 73-58 road win.
