Panthers fall short in tough road battle at Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - LaGrange College Women's Basketball (6-3) went toe-to-toe with the Bobcats of Georgia College (7-3) on Wednesday (Dec. 18), falling short late in a 78-64 final.

Game Details
The first quarter was absolute pandemonium as the Panthers faced the noise of a rowdy Centennial Center crowd of over 3,000 Georgia College faithful. Despite the chaos, they were able to stay cool under the pressure, making their mark with key stops and timely baskets to keep themselves within striking distance, down by just six after one.

LaGrange found themselves behind by as much as 11 points in the second quarter, as Georgia College found the back door a handful of times to seemingly begin pulling away. The Panthers would not go down that easily, however, as they battled back late in the quarter to make it a much more manageable 37-32 deficit heading into the locker rooms.

LC continued to battle at the start of the second half, tying the game up at 44-apiece midway through the third quarter. After nearly taking their first lead of the contest, the Panthers fell back behind by nine as they trailed 55-46 heading into the final frame.

With a monumental road win on the line, LaGrange did all they could to equalize the contest in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Panthers, it was all Bobcats in the final quarter as they finally found the momentum to pull away with clutch baskets and forced errors against the visiting LaGrange, who would end up falling 78-64.

Top Panther Performers
