Following a 76-66 win over Greensboro College (Dec. 14), the Panthers advanced to the LaGrange College Christmas Tournament Championship and improved to 4-5 overall. LaGrange will play East Texas Baptist University tomorrow (Dec. 15) at 4 p.m. in the championship.

The Panthers kicked off the home tournament with consecutive strong scoring plays from
Brodie Scott and a jumper by
Jace Herrell, taking a 6-2 lead over the visitors from North Carolina.
The Pride were not here to mess around, quickly capitalizing on two LC fouls to cut the Panthers edge to 10-9.
Fueled by three-pointers from
Tyler Harrington and
Jace Herrell, LaGrange responded by extending the lead to 17-11 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half. This six-point run was followed up with a pair of hard nose layups by
Parker Gonzalez and
Micah McAllister to put the Panthers up double-digits for the first time today.
The LC lead was drained to 26-20 after the Pride's three-pointers began to fall. LaGrange answered with back-to-back scores, including a Herrell three, establishing a 31-20 advantage with under seven minutes left.
Heading into the break, LaGrange held a commanding 43-28 lead.
Brodie Scott posted a team-high nine points while shooting a consistent 4-5 (80%) from the field. The tough and talented guard also pulled down a Panther-best four rebounds. As a team, LC made a solid 16-32 (50%) of their shots in the first period.
The second half started with the Pride attacking the rim in order to score. Each time GC began to dig themselves out of the deficit, LaGrange responded with timely buckets to go back out in front by double-digits.
Despite the Pride hitting their shots, LaGrange's ability to score off of steals is what kept the Panthers out in front 68-50 with 10 minutes remaining.
Over the next five minutes, LaGrange maintained their dominance, sustaining a 20-point lead over the Greensboro visitors.
The Panthers cruised the rest of the way to win 76-66 over the Pride.
Brodie Scott finished with a team-high 19 points, hitting 8-9 (89%) from the field and 2-2 (100%) from three, in addition to leading the team with eight rebounds. LC ended the day shooting an even 50% in both periods, hitting 28 of their 56 total shots.
