Scouting Report
Following a tough road loss to the Belhaven University Blazers (Nov. 9), the Panthers record sits at 5-4 (5-2 USAS). Quarterbacking the team through the historic 2024 season is sophomore Henry Brodnax. In nine appearances, Brodnax has connected on 132 of his 245 (54%) passes for 1529 yards and 10 touchdowns. Leading the Panthers with 548 receiving yards and five touchdowns is senior wide receiver Jasharie Anderson. Throughout the season, the lightning-fast wide receiver has showcased his explosiveness, recording a catch of 40 yards or more in six different games. Junior wideout Ashton Bryant trails slightly behind Anderson with 463 yards and three touchdowns, but he leads the unit with 41 catches. The Panthers ground attack has gone through senior running back Goldman Butler VI. In nine games, the big but agile ball carrier has rushed 199 times, accounting for 835 yards (4.2 average) and seven touchdowns. This ranks Butler fourth all-time in single-season yards and fifth in touchdowns in program history.

Shifting to the LC defense, graduate student Desmond Folge leads the Panthers in tackles with a total of 69. Despite opponents running their plays away from Fogle, the incredibly talented linebacker always ends up in the mix. Sophomore linebacker Dezmond Jones has posted a team-high 9.5 tackles for a loss and freshman linebacker Ched Smith leads LaGrange with four sacks. Out of the Panthers' nine interceptions and eight fumble recoveries, sophomore defensive back Keyon Stoutemire leads the team in caused turnovers with four picks. This ties Stoutemire for the third-most single-season interceptions in the program's history.

The SVU Knights are 1-8 (1-6 USAS), dropping their most recent game 51-0 to Huntingdon College (Nov. 9). This crushing defeat was dealt after the Knights secured their first win of the season over Methodist University (Oct. 19) and narrowly fell to N.C. Wesleyan University by a fourth quarter field goal (Oct. 26). Throughout the season, the Knights have bounced between using sophomore Devin Watson and junior Isaiah Maxey at quarterback depending on the situation. Typically the starter, Watson completed 99 of his 168 passes (59%) for 1233 yards, seven interceptions and four touchdowns. In short passing situations, particularly early in the season, Maxey came in at quarterback. The junior has connected on 61 of his 108 passes (56%) for 489 yards and two interceptions.  The pair of quarterbacks tend to target freshman wideouts Alex Silvester and Tucker McCormick, as well as using sophomore running back Tyreek Hall in the screen game. Silvester leads the receiving core with 27 catches, 355 yards and two touchdowns. McCormick has caught 24 passes for 228 yards but has yet to find the endzone. Hall has pulled in 22 catches for 205 yards, in addition to his team-high 471 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

The Knights are led on defense by freshman linebacker Kutlur Matheson who has made a team-high 80 tackles. Out of the unit's 44 tackles for a loss, junior Jemaar Robinson leads SVU with eight on the season. Sophomore defensive back CJ Williams has recorded half of the team's eight total interceptions, tallying a pick in four separate games.
