The LaGrange College Volleyball Team (4-11) will be heading off to Demorest, Ga this weekend (Oct. 5) to take on Piedmont University (1-9) and Covenant College (8-10) in their second conference tri-match of the season, their first in the month of October.

The Matchup
LC heads into this match after a disappointing conference loss at home Thursday (Oct. 3) to the Belhaven University Blazers in a 3-0 final. The opportunity for two bounce back wins presents itself for the Panthers, but not without a challenge that will test this young group. They face two squads in Piedmont and Covenant that have enjoyed great historical success against LC with a combined 51-8 record against the Panthers, who have dropped 12-consecutive sets to each team, respectively.

There is hope yet for this LaGrange team, however, who have proven match after match that they can go toe-to-toe with the conference's best in spite of their youth with their reservoir of tremendous talent. Both matches prove very winnable for the Panthers against two teams that have had relative struggles this season, both bringing losing records into this contest. 

Players to Watch
Claire Titus has been a major asset for the Panthers' offensive efforts, registering 62 attacks with 21 kills to her ledger. She will look to further her impact on the court Saturday.

Piedmont will look to their junior DS Zoe Coelho to clamp things down defensively. She leads the team with 86 digs on the season, 34 coming in the Lions' latest three matches.

As for the Scots of Covenant, senior MH Hannah Mathis has been dominant at the net with 192 kills so far this season. The Panthers will be sure to aim at limiting her effectiveness as much as possible Saturday.
