LC Volleyball wraps up 2024 season Saturday with conference tri-match

The LaGrange College Volleyball Team (7-20, 4-10 Collegiate Conference of the South) concludes their season this weekend as they head to Decatur, Ga on Saturday (Nov. 2) to take on Maryville College (18-8, 11-3 CCS) and hosts Agnes Scott College (3-18, 1-13 CCS) in conference tri-match play.

The Teams
The Panthers are coming off a tough road loss to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in a match that saw LC rally from down 2-0 to bring the score within one, before falling in four sets 3-1. LaGrange earned a split tri-match result earlier in the season when they played the two teams in Maryville on Oct. 12, dropping the first match to the host Scots 3-0 before winning the second 3-1 over the Scotties.

Agnes Scott has had their fair share of struggles this season, bringing in a losing streak of five that they have every intention of snapping in their home finale. The Scotties are presented with an opportunity to make school history Saturday by earning their first ever win against Maryville since the two first met in 2018.

As for the Scots of Maryville, they have proven to be one of the top contenders for the CCS title this season with an 18-8 record, dropping only three contests in conference. They have enjoyed a two-loss October, winning 10 of 12 with their only losses coming to Asbury University.

Players to Watch
Freshman Julia Damico put forth one of the best individual performances of the entire season in the Panthers' last outing against Tuskegee College, registering 10 kills, 20 assists and also 20 digs for her first triple-double of her collegiate career.

The Scotties will look to Jahneya Reynolds to hold down the fort defensively on Saturday. She leads the team with 250 digs at 4.39 digs per set, the best average among all three teams.

Landry Frisch leads the Scots with 240 kills on the season. The senior OH out of Birmingham, Al has proven to be the team's major offensive weapon at 2.67 kills per set.

Where to Watch
The match is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. with the Panthers' matches at 2 and 4 p.m., respectively. For links to stream the match and live stats, click here.
