The Panthers record fell to 4-11 (1-4 CCS) following tonight's 3-0 loss to Belhaven University. LaGrange's record against BU dropped to 0-2 on the season.

LC opened the first set falling behind by two but quickly bounced back to equalize the game at 4-4. The Panthers took a 9-6 lead, forcing a BU timeout after Blazer errors aided a 5-0 LC run. Following this timeout, the Blazers scored eight of the nine next points to go up 14-11. BU stayed at a three-point advantage until
Zentrina Choice made a huge spike to cut the lead to 20-18.
Emma Campbell and
Julia Damico both made fantastic late digs, but BU was just too much to handle. LC fell in set one 25-20.Â
The second set began with a minute-long volley that ended with the Panthers scoring one of the hardest earned points of the year. BU responded with one, but LC scored three points in a row to go up 4-1. The Panthers extended their lead to 6-2 following back-to-back powerful spikes by
Ella Kahikina. Each time the freshman made plays at the net, Richter Gym erupted with thunderous excitement. The Blazers responded, digging their way out of the deficit to tie the game at 8-8. BU grabbed a tight lead and never looked back. The visitors took the second set 25-18.
The third and final set started with BU securing a 4-2 advantage. The Panthers cut the lead to 7-6 after a BU error was followed up with a Kahikina kill. The Panthers tied the game at 8-8, but BU quickly established a sizable lead, going up 13-8. Similarly to the second set, BU took this lead and ran with it. The Blazers won 25-14.
Top Panther PerformanceÂ
Despite not having live stats, it felt like Zentrina Choice was making play after play for LC. Choice was playing particularly well at the net, securing Panther points by sending back any would-be spike that came her way. The box score confirmed that Choice finished with a team-high eight kills. Â
