Panthers Volleyball edged out by Clark Atlanta

LC Volleyball's record dropped to 7-17 (4-8 CCS) following a 3-0 loss to Clark Atlanta University (Oct. 23).

Match Details
One thing that quickly stood out during tonight's home match was libero Julia Damico starting at outside hitter. This position quickly got the freshman involved, with Demico setting up the first two Panther points. Through the opening 15 scores, LC trailed just 9-6, but the visitors from Atlanta went on an 8-0 run to force an LC timeout. Out of the break, the LaGrange Panthers began to settle in. Before the crowd at Richter Gym could even realize it, LC had fought their way back to a 21-16 deficit. Sadly, CAU did enough to hold on to win 25-18. Julia Damico played particularly well in her new role, finishing the set leading LC in digs (8), points (4), kills (3) and assists (3).

The visiting Panthers stayed on the attack in the second set. CAU jumped out to a 10-4 lead after capitalizing on LC errors. Despite the Panthers trying to slow the bleeding with a timeout, the visitors continued to hold a big lead over LaGrange. CAU won the second set 25-12.

Clark opened the third set grabbing a 4-0 advantage. Despite being down, LC continued to battle. Freshman Claire Titus and junior Zentrina Choice were keeping the Panthers within striking range by making strong plays at the net. CAU was just too much to handle for LC, the visitors took the third set 25-14.

Top Panther Performer
Julia Damico secured tonight's top Panther performance. Despite being moved into an unfamiliar position, the freshman still found success. She finished with a team-high 13 digs, 11 assists, seven points and led with six kills alongside Kaitlin Gilchrist.

Next up
