LaGrange opened the USA South portion of its schedule with a 35-21 win over Greensboro on Saturday at Callaway Stadium.

Junior quarterback Graham Craig threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns. Fellow junior Griffin Roelle was on the receiving end for three of the scores, finishing with eight catches for 103 yards.

Craig shook off an interception on the first play of the game with the help of the Panther defense. Three plays by The Pride lost 10 yards and Mark Bush's punt was blocked by Justin McIntyre. The Panthers took over at the visitor's 37 yard line. 

The offense needed only four plays to get in the end zone. Craig finished the short drive with a 23-yard touchdown strike to Marsalis Jackson to make it 7-0.

The Panthers' next two drives ended on a missed field goal and at the Greensboro 1-yard line on downs.

The Panthers opened up a 21-0 lead at halftime by scoring on two of their next three drives. Marquius Young capped a short drive with a 1-yard plunge and Roelle scored his first touchdown with 50 seconds left in the half.

After Greensboro got on the board in the third quarter, the Panthers answered with a touchdown less than a minute later. Again it was Craig to Roelle, this time from 33 yards out to up the lead to 28-7.

The pair closed out the scoring for the Panthers in the fourth quarter. The Panthers covered 74 yards in just six plays. Roelle finished the drive with a 40-yard catch from Craig to make it 35-7.

Greensboro added two scores in the quarter, the last with seven seconds left for the 35-21 final.

Senior linebacker Andre Carter led the defense with nine tackles, including three for losses. He also broke up four passes. Justin Chambers had eight tackles. McIntyre also had a caused fumble and an interception to go with his blocked punt.

The Panthers are on the road at North Carolina Wesleyan next Saturday in a USA South game.
