Women's Tennis: Panthers clinch USA South tournament berth with win over Piedmont

The LaGrange women's tennis team clinched a berth in next weeks USA South Tournament by beating visiting Piedmont 5-4 on Saturday.

Sophomore Betsy Markham won the decisive match at #6 singles. She beat Val Zhurakovskaya in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-3.

Piedmont led 2-1 after the doubles matches. The Panthers rallied by taking four of the six singles matches. In addition to Markham; Jenna Eppes, Liz Minick, and Jia Lee won at #1, #3, and #4 singles.

The Panthers host Covenant in a USA South match Saturday. Senior Denney Meigs will be honored before the match.
