Women's Soccer: Panthers even record with 3-1 road win over Toccoa Falls

TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - The LaGrange women's soccer team evened its season record with a 3-1 win at Toccoa Falls on Tuesday. The Panthers are now 2-2-1, while the Eagles remained winless at 0-4.

LC played the final 75 minutes of the game short handed. Olivia Braun was sent off with a red card in the 15th minute with the Panthers leading 1-0. Freshman Zoe Watts scored her fifth goal of the season off assists from fellow freshmen Dynasty Burchett and Chole McGuffin in the fourth minute for the first goal of the game. Watts is tied for first in the USA South in goals scored.  The Eagles tied the game with a minute remaining in the first half.

The Panthers got the go-ahead goal midway through the second half. Maura Webb's shot hit the cross bar and went in the goal for a 2-1 lead. It was the junior's first collegiate goal. LC added an insurance goal with four minutes left as freshman Gracie Amonett got her first goal with an assist from Burchett.

Emma Smith had eight saves in goal for the Panthers. 

LC is scheduled to host Greensboro on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a USA South game. The Panthers home game Sunday against William Peace has been cancelled due to Hurricane Florence.
