Women's Soccer: NCAA Division II member Georgia Southwestern spoils Panthers' opener

Georgia Southwestern pulled away in the second half to spoil the 2016 season opener for LaGrange at Panther Field on Thursday. The match was the first of the season for both teams.

The NCAA Division II member Hurricanes used three second half goals after leading by a goal at halftime for the 4-0 final. Ella Hawkins had both of her goals in the second half for the visitors.

Sophomore Jesse Grogan allowed three goals and made seven saves in goal for the Panthers. Junior DeAundra Green finished the match, allowing a final goal in the 88th minute.

The Panthers play NAIA member Life University on Saturday at the Badger Creek Complex in Canton, Ga.
