Lacrosse: Ferrum tops Panthers 19-11 in USA South contest

BREVARD, N.C. - Ferrum downed LaGrange 19-11 in a USA South game Thursday afternoon. The game was played at Brevard College after the original game last Sunday was postponed due to weather. The Panthers (5-9, 2-5 USA South) were playing less than 24 hours after beating Oglethorpe 20-8 on Wednesday night.

Davida White led LC with three goals and now has 41 on the season. Madeline LaCavara, Eva Tallent, and Rachael Thomas all had two goals. LaCavara has now tied Kelsey Griffith's season record set in 2013 of 48 goals. 

Ferrum (6-6, 4-3 USA South) led 7-4 in the first half. Thomas had back-to-back goals for the Panthers to make it a one-goal game. White's second goal of the game made it 8-7, before Ferrum added another goal to lead 9-7 at halftime. In the second half, the Panthers could not get closer than three goals. LaCavara tied Griffith's record with 16:59 left in the game.

The Panthers play at USA South foes N.C. Wesleyan and Methodist on April 7-8.
