Lacrosse: Panthers celebrate Senior Night with 20-8 win over Oglethorpe

LaGrange celebrated Senior Night with a 20-8 win over visiting Oglethorpe on Wednesday night. The win upped the Panthers' record to 5-8, their most wins since the 2013 season. Oglethorpe dropped to 3-6.

Seniors Dominique Desautels, Madeline LaCavara, Kylie Reynolds, Lydia Subat, and Rachael Thomas were honored before the game. LaCavara, Thomas, Brie Shepler, and Davida White all scored four goals for the Panthers. LaCavara now has 46 goals on the season and needs three goals to break Kelsey Griffin's record of 48 set in 2013. White now has 38 on the season, while Thomas has 36.

The Panthers broke an early 1-1 tie with five straight goals to take the lead for good. The Stormy Petrels got within three before LC started pulling away, taking a 10-3 halftime lead. The Panthers continued to add to the lead, going up 20-7 on LaCavara's final goal of the game. Oglethorpe scored at the buzzer for the 20-8 final.

The Panthers face Ferrum on Thursday in a USA South game, that was postponed from last Sunday. The game will be played at Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina starting at 1 p.m.
