Lacrosse: Second half surge sends Piedmont past Panthers

DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont used a second half surge to beat LaGrange 21-10 in a USA South game Wednesday. The loss left the Panthers 3-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Madeline LaCavera had four goals to lead LC. She leads the team and the conference with 26 this season. Eva Tallent and Racael Thomas had two goals each. Tallent's goal put the Panthers up 5-4 with 13:06 left in the first half. Piedmont (4-1, 3-0 USA South) scored six of the final seven goals of the half to lead 10-6. Thomas had back-to-back goals in the second half to get LC within two, 11-9. But the Lions scored 10 answered goals to open up a 21-9 lead. Davida White's goal closed out the scoring in the game.

The Panthers host Greensboro on Saturday, March 10 in a USA South game, and Pfeiffer on Sunday, March 11 in a non-conference game.
