Women's Basketball: Panthers roll over Toccoa Falls 99-32 in non-conference game

LaGrange rolled past Toccoa Falls 99-32 in a non-conference game Tuesday in Mariotti Gym. The Panthers improved to 11-9 on the season.

Marilauren Farr led the Panthers with 16 points, while Megan Garcia added 12 off the bench. Every player on the LC roster scored in the game.

"I was really pleased with our effort tonight," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "When you play stingy defense and then shoot it as well as we did the game looks easy. We played all the players tonight and everyone got in the scoring column.

"At one point we had four freshmen on the floor together. A real good team win and now we have to get ready for a big weekend."

The 99 points was a season high for the Panthers, who went over 90 points in a game for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

LC led 19-8 with 3:54 left in the first period. The Panthers went on a 24-0 run that carried over into the second quarter to blow the game wide open. They led 52-11 at halftime, holding the Eagles to just three field goals in the half.

The lead continued to grow in the second half. The Panthers led 77-20 heading to the final quarter. LC finished the game shooting 58.8 percent from the floor, including 9-of-16 from 3-point range.

The Panthers host Salem on Saturday and Piedmont on Sunday in USA South games.
