Women's Basketball: Panthers' win streak ends with 41-38 loss to visiting Millsaps

LaGrange lost a defensive struggle with visiting Millsaps in Mariotti Gym on Monday. The Panthers (7-3) fell 41-38 to the Majors (6-6).

"This was a really tough and physical game tonight. I give a lot of credit to Millsaps, we had them down and they just kept battling," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "It's disappointing to miss nine free throws and lose by three. We have to continue to keep working to fix our weaknesses."

No Panther reached double figures. Lauren Johnson, Kelsey Mitchell, and Kelsey Walthall all had nine points. Madison Barker had her second straight double figure rebounding game with a game-high 11.

The Panthers led 23-17 at halftime. Neither team shot over 30 percent for the game. The Panthers were 11-of-20 at the free throw line.

The Panthers play at Maryville (8-2, 2-0 USA South) on Saturday in a USA South game.
