TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - LaGrange turned back Toccoa Falls 52-44 in non-conference action Friday. It was the fourth straight win for the Panthers now 6-2.
"This was a really tough game and I give a lot of credit to Toccoa Falls for making it that way," Coach Lee Buchanan said. "They played hard and stuck to their game plan."
"We were able to play all of our players and get the young players some minutes," said Buchanan. "We have had six of our eight games this semester on the road and to be 5-1 in those games is a real good accomplishment. We are tired from six straight games on the road and it showed tonight."
The Panthers never trailed in the game. They led 25-19 at halftime, then opened up a 17-point lead in the third quarter and coasted home.
The Panthers had a 48-30 advantage rebounding, including 20-4 on the offensive boards. Farr and Madison Barker each had seven rebounds.
The Panthers are off until Jan. 2 when they go on the road to take on Covenant in a USA South game.
"We have had a good semester on the basketball court and we continue to get better. We are not playing our best basketball right now but I am okay with that," pointed out Buchanan. "Our goal is to improve each game and be a better basketball each day.
"If we continue to work hard we will be playing our best basketball when it counts."
