Swimming: David Edmonson and Jaida Rashad lead LC against South Georgia and Thomas

DOUGLAS, Ga. -The swim teams competed against South Georgia State Thomas University here Saturday.

David Edmondson and Jaida Rashad led the team in earning 11 points.  Lylliana Menjivar-Couch earned 10 points, Alexis Simmons eight points, Timothy Chase-Hill seven points, and Gabriel Griffith three points. 

Edmondson was thirdin the 100-yard backstroke, fourth in the 200 backstroke and 12th in the 200 freestyle.  Griffith place seventh in the 1,000 freestyle, eighth place in the 100 butterfly and 13th in the 200 freestyle. Chase-Hill finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke, sixth in the 200 breaststroke and 14th in the 200 freestyle.

Menjivar-Couch was fifth in the 200 breaststroke, while placing sixth in both the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Rashad finished third in the 100 freestyle, sixth in the 100 backstroke and seventh in the 50 freestyle. Simmons place fourth in the 100 freestyle, seventh in the 100 backstroke and eighth in the 50 freestyle.

The next meet for the Panther teams will be in Sewanee, Tennessee at the Igloo Invitational on Nov. 17-18.  The meet will be a prelims/finals format.
