Swimming: Panther teams take on Hollins, Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. - The LaGrange swim teams lost to Hollins and Ferrum in a meet Saturday on the campus of Ferrum. The Panthers had several swimmers place first overall.

"Ferrum and Hollins were both tough competitors," Coach Cassie Wendall said. "But we are currently on the right track with our training and this meet showed where the team can go." 

Timothy Chase-Hill placed first in the 100-yard freestyle and Gabriel Griffith was first in the 500 freestyle against Ferrum. Griffith dropped 23 seconds from his time in the meet against Emmanuel.

For the women, Makaela Woytek placed first in the 200 individual medley against Ferrum. Destinee Tate dropped seven seconds in the 100 freestyle from her previous best time at Emmanuel College.
