Swimming: Tim Garnett, David Edmondson set school records at Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - The LaGrange swim teams completed their 2016-17 season at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship.

For the men, sophomore Tim Garnett and freshman David Edmondson broke school records at the championship. Garnett set new marks in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.40) and 400 individual medley (4:34.05). He also had a time of 53.47 in the 100 butterfly. Edmondson broke the 100 backstroke record with a time of 54.33.

Junior Hiram Haro Oropeza competed in two events. He had times of 1:04.02 in the 100 butterfly and 58.18 in the 100 freestyle.

Sophomore Elissa Fuller set a personal best time of 2:34.62 in the 200 backstroke. She also competed in the 200 freestyle (2:18.04) and 100 backstroke (1:13.07). Sophomore Lyllie Menjivar Couch swam in three events. She posted times of 2:30.28 in the 200 freestyle, 1:34.42 in the 100 breastroke, and 3:26.10 in the 200 breastroke.
