Swimming: Panther men win dual meet against Ferrum and Guilford

FERRUM, Va. - The LaGrange swim teams competed in a dual meet with Ferrum and Guilford on Friday. The combined Panther teams defeated Guilford 114-70, while the men swept Ferrum and Guilford by 76-60 and 81-0 scores respectively.

The men won eight events. Freshman David Edmondson and sophomore Tim Garnett each took first in three events. Freshman Nick Montana was first two events.

Edmonson won the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 backstroke, and 500 freestyle. Garnett was first in the 100 and 200 butterfly, along with the 200 individual medley. Montana took the 50 and 100 freestyle events, while placing second in the 200 freestyle.

Sophomore Elissa Fuller led the Panther women. Fuller took first in the 200 backstroke and was second in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Lyllie Menjivar-Couch was third in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley events. 

The Panthers teams travel to Berry on Jan. 21.
