Softball: Panthers finish USA South schedule with split at Agnes Scott

DECATUR, Ga. - LaGrange finished its USA South schedule with a split of a doubleheader Wednesday at Agnes Scott. The Scotties (5-21, 2-10 USA South) took Game 1 5-2 before the Panthers (13-17, 9-5 USA South) came back to win Game 2 7-3.

Carolyn Harkness had six hits, scored two runs, and stole three bases in the doubleheader. Emily Barrs went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to lead LC's 16-hit attack in the second game. Chelsea Twardoski went the distance in the second game to even her record at 6-6. She allowed only one earned run, walked two, and struck out four.

The Panthers gave Twardoski all the runs she needed with a five-run second inning. Haley Coleman's base hit drove in the first two runs of the inning. Barrs and Brittany Todd had back-to-back run scoring singles and Sydney Hodorff's sacrifice fly capped the inning. In the seventh, Barrs finished the scoring for the Panthers with a two-run single.

The Panthers host Birmingham-Southern in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday, April 4.
