Senior first baseman Taylor Tallant is the USA South Softball Player of the Week for the week ending March 11. She is the second LaGrange player to earn the weekly honor, joining teammate Sydney Hodorff, who was the player of the week Feb. 20.
Tallant helped the Panthers go 5-1 against USA South foes last week. She batted .500 (10-for-20) with two doubles, a home run and nine RBIs, with a slugging percentage of .750. In a 8-6 come-from-behind win at Huntingdon, Tallant capped a five-run seventh inning with a go-ahead two-run home run, her first as a Panther. She finished the game 2-for-4 with four RBIs. For the season, Tallant is batting .328 with the home run and tied for first on the team with 12 RBIs. She has made only one error at first base in 135 chances.
