Men's Tennis: Trevor McLemore leads strong showing by Panthers at ITA Regional Championship

ROME, Ga. - Led by freshman Trevor McLemore, the LaGrange men's tennis team had a strong showing at the ITA Regional Championship held at the Rome Tennis Center.

McLemore won the Singles Bronze Draw championship. He did not drop a set in winning four straight matches, including defeating teammate Lance Shealy in the semifinal round. McLemore beat Sebastian Barrientos of Belhaven 6-2, 6-3 in the final round. Also competing in the Singles Bronze Draw were junior John Mitchell Benton and freshman Kyle Kelley. Kelley went on to win the Singles Bronze Draw Consolation, defeating Clay Jones of Berry 6-2, 6-4.

Senior Mitchell Corley and sophomore Will Thompson each advanced to the second round of the Singles Main Draw Consolation. Freshman Caleb Edde reached the semifinal round of the Singles Silver Draw Consolation.

Benton and Shealy reached the final round of the Doubles Silver Consolation. McLemore and Edde reached the quarterfinal round of the Doubles Gold Consolation. Kelley and Geoffrey Martin also reached the quarterfinals of the Doubles Gold.
