Men's Soccer: Strong second half sends Panthers past Toccoa Falls 4-2

TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - The LaGrange men's soccer team upped its record to 3-1 with a 4-2 win at Toccoa Falls on Tuesday. The Panthers broke a 1-1 halftime tie with three unanswered goals in the second half.

Freshman Jude McEvoy opened the scoring in the eighth minute. He headed in Adam Curry's kick from the corner for his team-leading fifth goal of the season. McEvoy is tied for the lead in goals scored in the USA South conference. The Eagles (0-3) tied the game in the 29th minute.

Curry got the go-ahead goal unassisted less than two minutes into the second half. It was Curry's second goal of the season. Freshman Justin Threatt's first goal of the season in the 65th minute off an assist from Jonathan Mann upped the Panthers' lead to 3-1. Nick Huberty headed in Daniel Meredith's corner kick six minutes later for his second goal of the season making 4-1. The Eagles got a goal with two minutes remaining for the 4-2 final score.

The Panthers road games at Averett and Greensboro have been postponed due to Hurrican Florence. No make up dates have been announced yet. LC is 3-1 at the start of the season for the first time in the NCAA era of the program.
