Men's Soccer: Panthers clinch USA South tournament berth with 1-0 win at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - LaGrange clinched a berth in the USA South Tournament with a 1-0 win over Huntingdon on Wednesday. It will be the Panthers' first appearance in the tournament since joining the conference in 2012.

Errick Sturm got the game-winner in the 69th minute off an assist from Qua Tucker. The goal was the 16th of the season for Sturm, who is second in the conference in goals scored. The 16 goals are the second most by a Panther in a season.

The Panthers (5-10-2, 3-6-2 USA South) were out shot 7-3 during a scoreless first half. Goalkeeper Bonner Brooks stopped Huntingdon's only shot on goal in the half. In the second half, Huntingdon was held to only two shots.

LC will be the fourth seed in the West Division. The Panthers will play at top-seeded Maryville on Sunday at 5 p.m.
