Men's Soccer: Panthers celebrate Senior Day with 7-0 win over Berea

Errick Sturm recorded his third hat trick of the season in leading LaGrange to a 7-0 Senior Day win over Berea on Saturday. The Panthers upped their record to 4-7-2 overall and 2-3-2 in the USA South. 

Seniors David Flores, Daniel Provence, Diego Torres, and Christian Ussery were recognized before the game.

Sturm now has 13 goals on the season. He is tied with Patrick Kaney for the second most goals in a season in the program's history. Sturm moved into fourth place on the school career goals list with 22. He opened the scoring Saturday with a penalty kick just two minutes into the game. 

Matthew Fritts sent a ball into the Berea side. Berea goalkeeper Noah DeHart came out to get the ball, but Sturm beat him to it and dribble around him to put the ball in a wide open net for a 2-0 lead. Jonathan Mann's first goal of the season off a throw in from Connor Liney made it 3-0. Brandon Burrell closed out the first half scoring with two goals in 27 seconds for a 5-0 lead. Mason Chumley assisted on Burrell's first goal.

Sturm completed his hat trick 11 minutes into the second half with another assist from Fritts. Trey Chastain closed out the scoring off an assist from Michael Bruno for the 7-0 final. The goal was Chastain's first of the season.

The Panthers play at Piemdont in a USA South contest Tuesday.
