Men's Basketball:  Panthers clip Ferrum 84-73 for fourth straight win

FERRUM, Va. - LaGrange pushed its win streak to four games with an 84-73 victory over Ferrum on Saturday. The Panthers, now 12-7 overall and 7-4 in conference play stayed a half-game back of Piedmont for second in the West Division.

Alex Bonner and Jamison McCray combined for 42 points to lead LaGrange. Bonner had 22 points, while McCray finished with 20. Jack McCormack came off the bench to score a career high 15 points and Michael McCauley added 14.

The Panthers dominated the rebounding, finishing the game with a 43-18 advantage. Ferrum had only one offensive rebound in the game. The 18 rebounds were the fewest by an LC opponent in Coach Kendal Wallace's tenure. Travis Thompson had a game-high 10 rebounds in the game. 

LC never trailed in the game. The Panthers jumped out to a 22-5 lead eight minutes into the game. They led by as many as 18 before Ferrum rallied to get within six, 42-36, by halftime.

McCray's jumper put the Panthers up by 10, 57-47, six minutes into the half. Ferrum never got closer, as the Panthers maintained their double-digit lead the rest of the game, leading by as many as 17.

The Panthers finish their weekend road trip at Averett on Sunday in a USA South game.
