LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant downed LaGrange 93-82 in overtime in a USA South game Friday night. The Panthers are now 7-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The game was a rematch of last season's USA South Tournament championship won by Covenant, also in overtime.

Drew Vanderbrook led four Panthers in double figures with 16 points off the bench. Justyn Olson followed with 15 points, Alex Bonner 14, and Jamison McCray 13.

Berto Dryden and Patjo Twagirayezu each had 23 points for Covenant (7-5, 1-1 USA South). The Scots outscored the Panthers 28-9 at the free throw line in the game.

Olson's jumper with 4:02 left in regulation put the Panthers up 69-61. The Scots came back to take a 77-75 lead with 19 seconds remaining on the strength of six straight free throws. Vanderbrook sent the game into overtime with a layup off an assist from Olson with four seconds left.

In the extra period, Covenant took control by scoring the first nine points to go up 86-77. Vanderbrook's jumper broke the drought for the Panthers but they would draw no closer. McCray's 3-pointer closed out the scoring for the 93-82 final.

The Panthers led 37-35 at haltime. Bonner and Vanderbrook each had eight points in the half.

The Panthers play at Piedmont on Sunday in another USA South game.
