Golf: Panthers slip to tie for eighth after second round of NCAA Division III Championship

HOWEY-in-the-HILLS, Fla. - The LaGrange golf team is tied for eighth after Wednesday's second round of the NCAA Division III Championship at the Mission Inn Resort & Club El Campeon course. The Panthers had a team score of 309 for a tournament total of 605.

"We just didnt have it today," said Coach Lee Richter. "It was an off day, but we can turn around tomorrow and post a low score which is what it is going to take.

"We made the cut but we didn't come here for that.We came here to win and have a team capable of it. We can still win it, but we are really going to have play well and see what these guys are made of."

Logan Lanier had the Panthers' low round with a 2-over par 74. He is at 1-over par with a 145 total and tied for seventh in the individual standings, four shots out of first.

Anthony Scolapio followed Lanier with a 77. Eric Havixbeck (78), Drew Duffie (80), and Osborn Theam (81) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers.
