Senior Logan Lanier won the USA South Tournament individual championship on Saturday at Highland Country Club. LaGrange finished fourth in the final team standings.

The Panthers shot a team score of 291, their best of the three-day, tournament. They were one shot back of top-ranked Huntingdon. Methodist overtook Greensboro to win the team title.

Lanier fired a final round 3-under par 69 to win by three strokes over Huntingdon's Stephen Shepard with a 209 total. The senior from St. Augustine overcame a stretch of three bogeys in four holes on the back nine. He birdied 15 and 16 to push his lead to back to three shots over Shepard. Lanier led the tournament with 17 birdies.

"This is a dream come true, you couldn't finish it off a better way," Lanier said. "I got off to some shakey starts with a double bogey and two bogeys on the first hole. But I stuck to my game plan and really tried to stay patient. I knew there were some birdies out there so I knew I had to play my game and add them up at the end."

Senior Osborn Theam and freshman Drew Duffie tied for 10th in the standings. Theam shot an even par 72 to finish with a 222 total. Duffie had a 3-over par 75 to tie Theam. Senior Anthony Scolapio also posted a 75 for a 234 total. Eric Havixbeck tied with Scolapio after a final round 78.
