Golf: Panthers finish sixth at Jekyll Island Collegiate Tournament

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The LaGrange golf team finished sixth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational held at the Jekyll Island Golf Club's Pine Lakes course.

The Panthers shot a final round team score of 291, the fourth lowest round of the day among the 29-team field. For the tournament, the Panthers had a total score of 883. Greensboro won the tournament with Oglethorpe finishing second. Huntingdon, Methodist, and Emory rounded out the top five. 

Senior Logan Lanier had the tournament's low round of the day. Lanier had a 4-under par 68 to finish tied for fifth in the individual standings. He had six birdies against only two bogeys in his round.

Osborn Theam recovered from a second round 80 to shoot even par 72 on Sunday. Drew Duffie had a final round 75 to tie for 23rd. Anthony Scolapio (76) and Eric Havixbeck (81) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers.

The Panthers will play in the Wynlakes Invitational on March 27-28 in Montgomery, Alabama.
