Golf: Lanier led Panthers tie for sixth at Golfweek Fall Invitational

DESTIN, Fla. - Led by senior Logan Lanier, the LaGrange golf team tied for sixth at the Golfweek Fall Invitational played at The Raven Golf Course.

LaGrange had a final team score of 877 to tie with Concordia (Texas). The Panthers were just two shots back of USA South rivals Huntingdon and Methodist, who tied for fourth.

Lanier had rounds of 70, 71, and 70 over the par 71 layout for a two-under par 211 total in finishing fourth. In the tournament, the St. Augustine native played the back nine holes of the course at seven-under-par with just two bogeys.

Osborn Theam tied for 17th after a final round 76 for a 218 total. Eric Havixbeck and Anthony Scolapio both finished at 226. Both golfers had their lowest rounds of the tournament on the final day. Scolapio had a 73 and Havixbeck came in at 74. Drew Duffie had the Panthers' second lowest score on the final round with a 72 and had a 239 total.

The Panthers play their final tournament of the fall schedule Oct. 17-18 at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Stonebridge Country Club in Rome, Ga.
