Golf: Panthers finish fifth at Wynlakes Intercollegiate Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The LaGrange golf team finished fifth at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate Invitational played at the Wynlakes Golf and Country Club.

The Panthers had a second round team score of 301 for a 605 total. They were one shot back of fourth place Washington and Lee and another four strokes back of third place Mary Hardin Baylor.

Logan Lanier, despite a final round 78, tied for ninth in the individual standings. Anthony Scolapio led the Panthers on Tuesday with a 1-over par 73. Scolapio moved up eight spots to tie for 12th.

Alex Ball and Eric Havixbeck each had rounds of 75. Ball shaved 10 strokes off his first round score of 85, while Havixbeck made the biggest jump by a Panther in the standings, moving up 14 spots to tie for 30th. Osborn Theam shot an 82 to round out the Panthers' scoring.

The Panthers next tournament is the USA South conference championship at the Benvenue Country Glub in Rocky Mount, N.C. The tournament runs April 15-17.
