PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The LaGrange golf team moved up to finish sixth at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate.
The Panthers tied for the fourth lowest round Tuesday, shooting a 299 to finish with a 607 total. The USA South conference had four of the top six teams in the tournament. Huntingdon won by three strokes over Methodist, with Greensboro fourth, then the Panthers.
Junior Logan Lanier shot a final round 1-under par 71 for a two-day total of even par 144. Lanier moved up seven spots to finish with fifth in the individual standings. Anthony Scolapio jumped up seven spots to tie for 16th after a final round 73. Scolapio had a tournament total of 149.
Jake Haggerty had the Panthers' low round of the day playing as an individual. Haggerty shot a 2-under par 70, making four straight birdis on the back nine. Others playing as individuals were Eric Havixbeck (79), Akshay Patel (79), and Scotty Hoffman (85).
The Panthers play in the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate on March 18-20.
