Baseball: Huntingdon takes first game of USA South series with 9-2 win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Huntingdon took the first game of a USA South series with LaGrange with a 9-2 win Friday night at Posey Field. The loss was the third straight for the Panthers (7-9, 1-3 USA South).

Huntingdon (9-4, 1-0 USA South) had 20 hits in the game, with only one for extra bases. Richie Post (1-1) started and took the loss for LC. Post allowed six runs, five earned, in 4-1/3 innings. Kolby Skolnik threw the final 3-2/3 innings, surrendering three runs. The Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning. The Panthers got on the board in the sixth on an RBI single from Austin Jones, who also had a double in the game. Ryan Ross walked in the ninth and later scored on a wild pitch for LC's final run. Rhett Hollon had a double in the inning.

The two teams resume the three-game series Saturday at 4 p.m.
