MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Blane Swift hit an inside-the-park home run to help LaGrange down Huntingdon 11-3 Saturday at Posey Field in the second game of their USA South conference series.

The Panthers wiped out an early 2-0 deficit in upping their season record to 12-9 and evening their USA South record at 4-4. Huntingdon dropped to 10-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Swift's home run was his first of the season. Cain Sauls hit his third home run of the season to tie Blake Butcher for the team. The Panthers have hit nine home runs this season after hitting a total of eight the previous three seasons.

In addition to the home runs, the Panthers also had five doubles included in their 15 hits. Butcher and Chad Pigg each had two doubles, while Keith Sims had the other.

Ryan Broaderick (3-2) pitched six innings to get the win. He gave three runs, only two earned, while walking one and striking out three. Blake Schuck picked up his first save of the season, with three shutout innings.

Huntingdon led 2-0 after the first inning. Sims and Joe Pradat had back-to-back run-scoring singles in the second to tie the game. But the Hawks got an unearned run in their half of the second to retake the lead.

The Panthers took the lead for good in the fifth on Pigg's two-run double. They put the game out of reach over the last three innings.

In the seventh with two outs and a runner on, Swift drove the ball to center field and legged out the inside-the-park home run for a 6-3 lead. Cain's two-run home run in the eighth also came with two outs. The Panthers finished the game 8-for-18 (.444) at the plate with two outs.

The Panthers closed out the scoring in the ninth on Sims' two-run double for the 11-3 final.
