LaGrange celebrated Senior Day with a key 91-72 USA South win over Greensboro on Feb. 11 in Mariotti Gym. The Panthers' third straight win improved their record to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
Seniors Jacob Gaetanos, Tyler Langston, Justyn Olson, and Drew Vanderbrook were honored before the game. This class finished with 73 wins, the most by one at LC in the past 37 years. They would add a third USA South Tournament championship and fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament by the end of the season.
Vanderbrook and Alex Bonner combined for 46 points and 22 rebounds to lead the Panthers. Vanderbrook led all scorers with a LaGrange career high 28 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Bonner also had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Vanderbrook was named the USA South Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his effort.
Greensboro (13-9, 7-5 USA South) came into the game having not lost in five trips to Mariotti Gym. The Pride led in the early going but the Panthers finished the first half strong to take control of the game.
Down by four, the Panthers closed out the half on a 23-6 run. Elijah Adedoyin had nine of his 11 points as the LC took a 45-32 lead into halftime.
The Panthers continued to build on the lead in the second half. Michael McCauley's free throw gave LC its biggest lead, 84-57, with five minutes left.
