Junior quarterback Connor Blair is the Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, while sophomore Kiontai Button was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in the 2016 season.

Blair broke his own school record and the USA South record with seven touchdown passes in the game. He also ran for a TD, while completing 31-of-47 passes for 447 yards. Blair leads the conference in a number of passing categories, including yards (1,711) and touchdowns thrown (18). He led NCAA Division III in passing yards per game (427.8), is second in passing yards, and third in touchdown passes after the first four games of the 2016 season.

Button also had a record-setting game against Averett. He returned a kickoff for 99 yards for a touchdown, setting a new school and USA South record for longest kickoff return. In addition, the return was the longest play in school history. Button finished with a school-record 220 kickoff return yards, averaging 36.7 yards per return.
