2015-16 in Review: Women's soccer knocks Ferrum from the ranks of the unbeaten

The LaGrange women's soccer team knocked visiting Ferrum from the ranks of the unbeatens with a 2-1 win at Panther Field on Sept. 20. The Panthers evened their USA South record at 1-1, while upping their overall mark to 2-5 with the win.

The Panthers opened the scoring less than 10 minutes into the game. Tori Cutlip sent a crossing pass to Taylor Poole, who shot the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The Panthers carried the lead into halftime.

The Panthers continued to hold the lead into the second half. They padded their lead with 13 minutes left. Kelsey Lewis headed in a corner kick by Tori Cutlip to make it 2-0. It was the first goal of the season for Lewis.

Lewis' goal became even bigger when Ferrum scored three minutes later to cut the lead to 2-1. But the Panthers held on to the lead to secure the win.

Carly Farrow got the win in goal for the Panthers. She had four saves in the game.
