Junior defensive specialist Aspen Coggins was the USA South Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13.
Coggins averaged 4.57 digs per set as the Panthers posted a 2-2 record for the week. She added four kills, four service aces, and four assists.
Coggins totaled 14 digs, one kill and one service ace against Fisk. Against Wesleyan, she contributed six digs and an assist. In a five-set win over Huntingdon, Coggins had 24 digs, two kills, two service aces, and an assist. In the final match of the week against Sewanee, Coggins totaled 20 digs, two assists, a kill and a service ace.
During the 2015 season, Coggins led the Panthers and was 10th in the conference with 438 digs. She was also 10th in the conference with 3.81 digs per set. Coggins' total of 438 is eighth on the school's season list for digs.
